Symptoms

• The SRS indicator on the dashboard is on
• The airbag system may not deploy in an accident.
• The error is stored in the memory of the control unit
• There may be malfunctions in other security systems

Causes

• Security system sensor G malfunction
• Damage to the wiring harness to the sensor
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• SRS control module malfunction
• Short circuit in the sensor circuit

How to Fix

1. Diagnose the SRS system using a scanner
2. Check the integrity of the wiring harness to the G sensor
3. Inspect the sensor connectors for oxidation or damage.
4. Replace sensor G if necessary
5. Repair only from an authorized dealer
