Symptoms

• Left rear turn signal does not light up
• The lamp is constantly on regardless of the switch position
• Flashes irregularly or not at all
• The malfunction indicator lamp on the instrument panel is on
• Possible intermittent operation or operation of other electrical systems

Causes

• Damage or chafing of the harness wire insulation in the area of the left rear light
• Corrosion and oxidation of contacts in the turn signal circuit connector
• Malfunction of the turn signal lamp itself or the socket
• Loose connection between the wire and the housing or contact in the connector
• Incorrect installation or short circuit of the wire to the body after work
• Moisture getting into the lighting connector
• Malfunction of the relay or solenoid valve of the turn signal circuit
• Internal short circuit in the LED module or lamp itself

How to Fix

1. Connect a diagnostic scanner and check the exact fault code (B1247) and related errors
2. Visually inspect the left rear turn signal light for cracks, moisture or damage.
3. Check the lighting connector for corrosion, oxidation and tightness of contacts; clean contacts if necessary
4. Remove the flashlight and check the integrity of the lamp or LED module; replace if found faulty
5. Using a multimeter in resistance mode, check the wiring harness for a short between the signal wire and the chassis.
6. Check the wiring along the route from the turn signal switch to the lamp for damage or chafing
7. If a damaged wire is detected, repair or replace it; if necessary, insulate the contact point
8. Check the relay and solenoid valve of the turn signal circuit; replace if necessary
9. Clear the diagnostic memory with the scanner and perform a test drive to check if the problem is resolved
