Symptoms

• Right sliding door does not open or close electrically
• The door moves jerkily or stops in an intermediate position
• The characteristic sound of an electric motor without the physical movement of the door
• It is impossible to control the door from the passenger compartment or using the buttons on the door
• Malfunction lamp on the instrument panel or diagnostic code in the ECU memory
• The door is completely open or closed and does not respond to control commands

Causes

• Damage or wear of the closing direction switch sensor itself
• Broken or damaged wires in the harness leading to the sensor
• Oxidation or corrosion of contacts in the sensor connector
• Electrical failure due to water or moisture in the door panel
• Malfunction of the solenoid valve that controls the latch mechanism
• Mechanical jamming of the latch due to dirt or rust
• Incorrect installation of the sensor after repair or maintenance
• Failure of the electronic door control module
• Low voltage in the on-board network, insufficient to trigger the sensor

How to Fix

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner and confirm the presence of the B19DB code, read additional data about the circuit condition
2. Visually inspect the right sliding door, check the latch mechanism for visible damage, dirt or corrosion
3. Open the door panel and check the electrical wiring harness for integrity, traces of moisture and corrosion of the connectors
4. Test the switch sensor using a multimeter for the correct resistance at different latch positions.
5. Clean and dry the sensor connectors; if corrosion is detected, apply electrically conductive lubricant
6. Check the sensor supply voltage at the connector (should be within normal limits for your car)
7. If necessary, replace the damaged sensor with a new original or high-quality analogue
8. Check and restore the integrity of all wires in the harness, redo damaged connections
9. Lubricate the latch mechanism with a special lubricant for door mechanisms.
10. Delete the error from the ECU memory and conduct a test run of the system to confirm that the malfunction has been resolved
