Symptoms

• The ABS indicator on the dashboard is on
• ABS system does not work
• Possible problems with the ESP system (if installed)
• In some cases - extraneous noise from the ABS module

Causes

• ABS pump motor malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the ABS pump wiring harness
• Problems with the ABS pump control relay
• ABS module malfunction
• Poor contact in ABS system connectors

How to Fix

1. Carry out ABS diagnostics with a scanner
2. Check the integrity of the wiring harness to the ABS pump
3. Check the power and ground to the ABS pump motor
4. Check ABS pump control relay
5. If necessary, replace the ABS pump motor or ABS module
