Symptoms

• The all-wheel drive warning light comes on
• Unstable behavior of the all-wheel drive system
• Loss of power to the rear wheels
• The vehicle can remain in front wheel drive (FWD) mode

Causes

• Actuator Position Sensor B Malfunction
• Problems with the wiring harness to the sensor
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Mechanical fault of the differential actuator
• Problems with the four-wheel drive control unit

How to Fix

1. Diagnose the all-wheel drive system using an OBD-II scanner
2. Check the integrity of the wiring harness to the sensor
3. Check the operation of the position sensor
4. If necessary, replace the position sensor
5. Check and, if necessary, replace the differential actuator
6. Clear the error and test drive to check
