Symptoms

• The ESP/ABS indicator on the dashboard is on
• The stabilization system is disabled or does not work correctly
• The vehicle may behave unstably during sudden maneuvers.

Causes

• Broken or damaged sensor wiring harness
• Short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Malfunction of the angular velocity sensor itself
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Problems with the ESP control unit

How to Fix

1. Check the sensor wiring harness for breaks and damage.
2. Check the sensor connector for oxidation and poor contact.
3. Measure the resistance and voltage in the sensor circuit
4. Check the operation of the angular rate sensor using a scanner
5. If necessary, replace the sensor or repair the wiring harness
