Symptoms

• The ABS/ESP indicator on the dashboard is on
• Anti-lock braking system does not work
• Stabilization system disabled
• Incorrect speedometer readings

Causes

• Wheel speed sensor malfunction
• Open or shorted wiring harness
• Sensor contamination
• Wheel bearing fault (if the sensor is built-in)
• Problems with the ABS module

How to Fix

1. Check the visual condition of the sensor and wires
2. Check sensor resistance (compare with factory values)
3. Check the integrity of the wiring harness
4. Clean the sensor from dirt
5. If necessary, replace the sensor or wiring harness
6. Check the operation of the ABS module
