Symptoms

• The ABS light on the instrument panel is on
• Disabling the ABS system
• ABS pump does not work during testing
• Loss of EBD/ESP functionality (if applicable)

Causes

• Broken wires in the harness to the ABS motor relay
• Oxidation or corrosion of relay contacts
• ABS motor relay malfunction
• Poor contact in the ABS hydraulic modulator connectors
• Problems with power or ground of the relay circuit

How to Fix

1. Check ABS relay circuit fuse
2. Visually inspect the wiring harness to the ABS module for damage.
3. Check the resistance and control signal at the relay connector
4. Clean relay contacts and connectors
5. If necessary, replace the ABS motor relay
6. Check the operation of the ABS pump after repair
7. Clear the error and check for its reappearance
