Symptoms

• ABS/ESP indicator is on
• Disabling the ABS system

• Incorrect operation of cruise control
• Errors in other systems that depend on wheel speed sensor data

Causes

• Wheel speed sensor circuit open
• Short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Damage to the wheel speed sensor
• Sensor connector is dirty or damaged
• Wiring Harness Problems
• ABS control unit malfunction

How to Fix

1. Check the condition of the sensor and its wiring
2. Clean or replace sensor connector
3. Check sensor resistance (must meet specification)
4. Check the sensor signal with an oscilloscope
5. If necessary, replace the wheel speed sensor
6. Check and correct faults in the wiring harness
7. Reset the error and check the system operation
