Symptoms

• The ABS indicator on the dashboard is on
• Reduced ABS performance
• Possible activation of check engine light
• Unusual brake pedal behavior (hardness or pulsation)

Causes

• Open or short circuit in the wiring harness to the ABS valve
• Malfunction of the solenoid valve in the ABS module
• Connection problems or corrosion in connectors
• ABS module malfunction
• Damage to the ABS sensor gear ring

How to Fix

1. Check ABS valve resistance with a multimeter
2. Inspect the wiring harness for damage
3. Check the condition of connectors and contacts
4. Clean contacts from corrosion if necessary
5. Scan for other ABS fault codes
6. If necessary, replace the ABS valve or the entire module
