Causes

  • Broken wiring in the fuel volume regulator circuit

  • Malfunction of the fuel volume regulator itself
  • Oxidation or corrosion of connectors
  • Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction

How to Fix

  1. Connect a diagnostic scanner and read all error codes
  2. Check the voltage in the vehicle's on-board network
  3. Visually inspect the wiring and connectors of the fuel volume regulator
  4. Check wiring integrity with a multimeter
  5. Clean oxidized contacts and connectors
  6. Check the resistance of the fuel volume regulator
  7. If necessary, replace the faulty regulator
  8. Repair or replace damaged wiring
  9. Clear error codes and test drive
  10. Recheck the system with a diagnostic scanner
