Symptoms

  • Check engine light comes on
  • Dips during acceleration

Causes

  • Malfunction of the mass air flow sensor (MAF B)
  • Open or short circuit in the MAF wiring harness
  • Poor electrical contact in the air flow sensor connector
  • Water or dirt entering the sensor connector
  • Problems with power or grounding of the sensor
  • Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction

How to Fix

  1. Check the MAF wiring harness and connectors for damage and corrosion.
  2. Check the supply voltage and sensor circuit integrity
  3. Clean or replace mass air flow sensor B
  4. Reset the error and check if it returns
  5. If necessary, replace the wiring harness or control unit
