Causes
- Fuel pump relay stuck in the on position
- Feedback wire short circuit to power
- ECU malfunction
- Damage to the pump wiring harness
- Faulty fuel pump control module (FPDM)
How to Fix
- Read codes and check the operation of the fuel pump relay
- Replace the fuel pump relay with a known working one.
- Check wiring harness for short circuit to positive
- Check the ECU signal wire to the relay
- Check fuel pump control module (if equipped)
- Repair any damage to the harness or replace the ECU.
