Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Illuminates
• Unstable engine operation at idle
• Reduced engine power and throttle response
• Increased fuel consumption
• Misfire in cylinder 1

Causes

• Faulty cylinder 1 pressure sensor
• Damaged or broken sensor wiring
• Oxidation or poor contact in the sensor connector
• Problems with the cylinder 1 ignition system
• ECU malfunction (rare)

How to Fix

1. Connect a diagnostic scanner and read all fault codes
2. Check the wiring and connector of the cylinder 1 pressure sensor for damage and oxidation.
3. Measure the supply voltage and sensor signal with a multimeter
4. Replace the cylinder 1 pressure sensor if its malfunction is confirmed.
5. Check the condition of the spark plug and ignition coil of cylinder 1
6. Reset codes and take a test drive to confirm the problem has been resolved
