Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Intermittently
- Unstable engine operation, disappearing and reappearing
- Random misfire in cylinder 2
- Unpredictable failures during acceleration
- Difficulty starting in some cases
Causes
- Poor contact in the cylinder 2 pressure sensor connector
- Damage to wiring insulation (fraying, bending)
- Incipient pressure sensor failure
- Corrosion in electrical contacts
- Weak sensor mount, causing microvibrations
How to Fix
- Check the connector of the cylinder 2 pressure sensor - clean the contacts, make sure they are securely fixed
- Visually inspect the wiring for abrasions, fractures, and signs of overheating
- Check the sensor signal with an oscilloscope while the engine is running
