Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light Intermittently
  • Unstable engine operation, disappearing and reappearing
  • Random misfire in cylinder 2
  • Unpredictable failures during acceleration
  • Difficulty starting in some cases

Causes

  • Poor contact in the cylinder 2 pressure sensor connector
  • Damage to wiring insulation (fraying, bending)
  • Incipient pressure sensor failure
  • Corrosion in electrical contacts
  • Weak sensor mount, causing microvibrations

How to Fix

  1. Check the connector of the cylinder 2 pressure sensor - clean the contacts, make sure they are securely fixed
  2. Visually inspect the wiring for abrasions, fractures, and signs of overheating
  3. Check the sensor signal with an oscilloscope while the engine is running
  4. Lightly move the connector with the engine running to reproduce the fault.
  5. If confirmed, replace the sensor or repair the wiring
  6. Reset codes and conduct a long test drive to confirm serviceability
