Symptoms

• Check Engine light is on

Causes

• Clogged or blocked EVAP canister vent valve
• Kinked or clogged fuel tank ventilation hose
• EVAP pressure sensor wiring short circuit to power
• Faulty fuel tank pressure sensor
• Clogged carbon adsorber
• Defective gas cap
• Damaged fuel pump with faulty built-in check valve

How to Fix

1. Read all error codes with scanner
2. Check the gas cap for tight closure and seal integrity.
3. Check the voltage of the EVAP pressure sensor with the ignition on
4. Inspect the fuel tank and adsorber ventilation hoses for kinks and blockages.
5. Check the ventilation valve of the adsorber (canister) for functionality
6. Replace the EVAP pressure sensor if it is confirmed to be faulty
7. Carry out a leak test of the EVAP system with a scanner
8. Reset error and recheck
