  • Check Engine Light Is On
  • It is impossible to refuel (if the hatch is automatic)
  • Errors in the EVAP system

Causes

  • Malfunction of the fuel tank flap position sensor
  • Sensor circuit open
  • Short circuit in the circuit
  • Contact corrosion
  • Wiring Harness Problems

How to Fix

  1. Check the continuity of the sensor circuit (a wiring diagram and a multimeter may be required)
  2. Inspect the sensor contacts and connector for corrosion or damage.
  3. Test the sunroof lock position sensor
  4. Replace sensor/repair wiring if necessary
  5. Reset OBD-II error and check if it comes back
