Symptoms

- The system does not confirm that the fuel filler cap is locked.
- There may be problems opening the lid with the button
- Errors in the operation of the fuel filler access control system
Causes
- Broken lock position sensor circuit wire
- Short circuit to power in the sensor circuit
- Faulty lock position sensor/switch
- Oxidation or damage to the sensor connector
- ECU malfunction
How to Fix
- Read error codes with a scanner and record the data
- Find the fuel tank cap lock position sensor according to the diagram
- Check the voltage at the sensor connector with a multimeter
- Check resistance and wiring integrity
- Inspect the connector for oxidation and damage.
- Replace the sensor if it is confirmed to be faulty
- Reset the error and take a test drive
