Symptoms

- Oil deposits in the intake manifold
- Unstable engine idling in winter
Causes
- Broken wire in the PCV heating element circuit
- Oxidation or damage to the heater connector
- PCV valve heating element failure
- Heating circuit relay or fuse malfunction
- ECU malfunction (rare)
How to Fix
- Check the PCV heating circuit fuse according to the vehicle diagram
- Inspect the connector and wiring of the heating element for oxidation and breaks.
- Measure the resistance of the heating element (usually 5–20 Ohms)
- Check for power supply at the connector with the ignition on
- If a malfunction is detected, replace the heating element or PCV valve assembly
- Reset the error with a scanner and check that it does not reappear
