Causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Internal fault in the output stage of the SRS module
- Damage to the insulation of the wire with contact to the body
- Moisture entering the signal circuit connector
- Receiving ECU malfunction (incorrect line load)
How to Fix
- ATTENTION: disconnect the battery, wait 10+ minutes before working with SRS
- Read codes from SRS module
- Disconnect the connector and measure the resistance of the signal wire to ground - when shorted it will be close to zero
- Find and eliminate the short circuit (inspect the wiring harness)
- Check the output signal of the SRS module after troubleshooting
