P05E2
A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor B Circuit Intermittent/Erratic
Severity
✅ LowCan you drive?
Yes, but get it checked soon
Approx. repair cost
$22–78 (est.)
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Unstable air conditioner efficiency
- Spontaneous shutdown of the air conditioner in emergency mode
- Cooling fans run at maximum speed for no apparent reason
- Increased fuel consumption due to incorrect compressor control
Causes
- Poor contact in refrigerant pressure sensor connector B
- Damage to the wiring harness in the area of vibrating units
- Corrosion of sensor connector contacts from exposure to moisture and reagents
- Unstable reference voltage common to sensors A and B
- Incipient failure of pressure sensor B itself
How to Fix
- Read fault codes; if both P05E1 and P05E2 are active, check the general power supply to the pressure sensors
- Check sensor B data in real time while the air conditioner is running
- Inspect sensor connector B: move the harness, observing signal changes
- Measure the stability of the 5 V reference voltage and the quality of the ground in the sensor B circuit
- Check the condition of the harness in the compressor and condenser area
- Replace the refrigerant pressure sensor B if it is confirmed to be faulty
