Symptoms

• Intermittent ABS/ESP/Parking Brake Warnings
• Unstable operation of the hill hold function
• Check Engine Light Is On (Intermittent)
• Unpredictable behavior of the start-stop system
• Symptoms occur when there is vibration, rough roads, or changes in temperature.

Causes

• Unreliable contact in the sensor connector (oxidation)
• Frayed wiring that shorts out when vibrating
• Mechanically unstable sensor (case crack)
• Dirty parking brake switch contacts
• Loose sensor mount

How to Fix

1. Read the codes, pay attention to the intermittent nature (intermittent)
2. Inspect the sensor connector, clean the contacts with contact lubricant
3. Shake the wiring harness with the ignition on - check if the signal changes
4. Check the mounting of the parking brake sensor
5. Check the wiring for chafing along the entire route
6. Replace sensor if intermittent fault is confirmed
