Causes
- Valve control wire short to ground
- Short circuit of valve internal winding
- Damage to wiring insulation (pinching on metal)
- Moisture entering the valve connector
- ECU output stage malfunction
How to Fix
- Read codes, record operating parameters
- Disconnect the bypass valve connector and measure the resistance of its winding
- Check the resistance of the control wire to ground (with the ECU connector disconnected)
- Inspect the wiring for pinched or damaged insulation.
- Check the connector for moisture and oxidation
- Replace the valve or eliminate short circuit in the wiring
