Symptoms
- Check Engine Light and/or AdBlue Warning Light Is On
- SCR system does not activate in cold weather
- Possible engine power limitation
- Low or faulty AdBlue warning
- Freezing of the reagent in the tank during frost
Causes
- Malfunction of the heater module power supply wiring (open circuit, short circuit)
- Reduced on-board voltage (faulty generator, battery)
- Heater power relay malfunction
- Damage or oxidation of heater module connectors
- Malfunction of the heater control module itself
How to Fix
- Read all codes, pay attention to AdBlue and SCR system codes
- Check the voltage of the on-board network (normal: 13.5–14.5 V with the engine running)
- Check AdBlue heater circuit fuse
- Inspect the heater control module connectors for oxidation.
- Check heater power relay
- Diagnose the heater control module using a specialized scanner
