Causes
- Discharged or weak battery
- Oxidation of starter relay connector contacts
- Poor grounding of the starter or ECU
- Increased resistance in the relay power circuit
- Partially damaged starter circuit wiring
How to Fix
- Check the battery voltage (normal 12.4–12.6 V at rest)
- Check the voltage when cranking with the starter (not lower than 10 V)
- Clean and tighten battery terminals and relay contacts
- Check starter ground circuit resistance
- Measure the voltage drop across the starter circuit wires
- Replace the battery if the capacity is insufficient
