Symptoms

- Increased fuel consumption
- Unstable exhaust gas composition (rich or lean mixture)
- Other Bank 1 O2 Sensor Codes
- Deterioration of the catalytic converter
Causes
- Internal fault in the ECU processor circuit (O2 signal processing)
- Overheating or humidity that damaged the internal circuits of the ECU
- Voltage surge that damaged the ECU electronics
- ECU manufacturing defect
- Mechanical damage to the ECU
How to Fix
- Check the correct operation of bank 1 oxygen sensors (rule out external faults)
- Check power, ground, and signal circuits of bank 1 O2 sensors
- Make sure that the ECU is installed correctly and that there is no physical damage.
- Check the ECU supply voltage and the quality of the mass connections
- ECU diagnostics on a specialized stand
- If an internal malfunction is confirmed, repair or replace the ECU
