Causes
- Short circuit of the solenoid control wire to the power wire (+12 V)
- Damage to the insulation of the wiring harness (contact with the positive wire)
- Solenoid malfunction (internal short circuit to power - extremely rare)
- Incorrect connection after repair
- ECU output stage malfunction
How to Fix
- Check the voltage at the solenoid control contact with the ignition off (there should be no power)
- Check the control wire for a short to positive when the connector is disconnected
- Inspect the wiring harness for insulation damage
- If the wiring is correct, check the ECU output stage
- Restore insulation or replace damaged wire
