OBD Guide

P06D7

Sensor Reference Voltage F Circuit Low

Severity
🔴 High
Can you drive?
Yes, but get it checked soon
Approx. repair cost
$9–67 (est.)

Symptoms

  • Low sensor readings on the diagnostic scanner
  • Multiple sensor error codes with type “Low”
  • Over-rich or over-lean fuel mixture
  • Check Engine light on
  • Unstable engine operation

Causes

  • Short circuit of the F circuit wire to the car body
  • Internal short in one of the F circuit sensors
  • Damaged wire harness insulation
  • Moisture getting into the sensor or ECU connector
  • Malfunction of internal ECU reference voltage stabilizer

How to Fix

  1. Measure the voltage at terminal F with the ignition on
  2. Determine the list of sensors for circuit F according to the electrical diagram
  3. Disconnect the sensors one by one until the voltage normalizes
  4. Check the faulty sensor for internal short circuit with an ohmmeter
  5. Check wiring for insulation damage
  6. If the voltage is consistently low without sensors connected, diagnose the ECU
