Symptoms

Causes

  • Open or short circuit in control circuit
  • Poor contact in solenoid connectors
  • Shift Lock Solenoid Malfunction
  • Transmission control module (TCM) problems
  • Corroded contacts or damaged wiring harness

How to Fix

  1. Check the integrity of the solenoid control circuit
  2. Inspect connectors and contacts for corrosion or damage
  3. Check solenoid resistance (must be within specification)
  4. Replace shift lock solenoid if necessary
  5. Check and, if necessary, replace the transmission control module (TCM)
