Symptoms

• Check Engine light comes on
• The engine goes into emergency mode
• Reduced engine power

Causes

• Throttle potentiometer malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction
• Mechanical problems with the throttle valve

How to Fix

1. Check the resistance of the throttle potentiometer
2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for damage.
3. Check the voltage in the sensor circuit
4. Clean the throttle valve and check its mechanical operation
5. If necessary, replace the throttle potentiometer
