Symptoms

• Engine starting problems (won't start in P or N position)
• Incorrect gear shifting
• Check Engine Light Is On
• The gearbox goes into emergency mode
• Discrepancy between the position of the selector lever and the actual gear

Causes

• Gear range sensor malfunction
• Damaged or corroded electrical contacts
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Incorrect sensor adjustment
• Mechanical damage to the gear shift lever

How to Fix

1. Check the condition and adjustment of the gear range sensor
2. Inspect the electrical connections and wiring of the sensor
3. Check sensor resistance (compare with factory specifications)
4. If necessary, replace the gear range sensor
5. After replacement, check and, if necessary, adjust the position of the sensor
