Symptoms

  • Incorrect fuel level readings on the dashboard
  • The fuel level arrow jumps or shows incorrect values
  • Check engine light comes on
  • Remaining fuel is not displayed accurately
  • The system can show an empty tank when there is fuel

Causes

  • Fuel level sensor A or B faulty
  • Problems with wiring to sensors
  • Short circuit or open circuit in the sensor circuit
  • Poor contact in sensor connectors
  • Mechanical damage to sensor floats
