Symptoms
- TCS light or slip indicator is on
- Disabling the traction control system
- Wheel slip on slippery roads without TCS intervention
- Possible ESP system deactivation
- Extraneous noise during operation of the ABS valve body
Causes
- ABS/TCS pump motor malfunction
- Open or short circuit in the motor power supply circuit
- Oxidation or damage to the motor connector
- Pump motor relay fault
- Internal malfunction of the ABS/TCS control unit
How to Fix
- Read codes from the ABS/TCS control unit using a scanner
- Check TCS motor circuit fuse and relay
- Measure the supply voltage at the motor connector
- Check the integrity of the wiring and the condition of the connectors
- Measure the resistance of the motor windings (if available)
- Replace the ABS/TCS pump unit if the engine malfunction is confirmed
