Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Is On
• Unstable engine idling
• Increased fuel consumption
• Loss of engine power
• Jerks when accelerating
• Difficulty starting the engine

Causes

• Open or short circuit in the wiring of the fuel shut-off valve
• Poor contact in valve connector
• Fuel cut-off valve A malfunction
• Wiring harness damage
• Contact corrosion
• Engine control module (ECM) malfunction
• Low voltage in the on-board network

How to Fix

1. Connect a diagnostic scanner and read all error codes
2. Check battery and generator voltage
3. Visually inspect the fuel shutoff valve wiring for damage.
4. Check the resistance of fuel shut-off valve A with a multimeter
5. Check the integrity of the wiring from the ECM to the valve
6. Clean and check valve connector contacts
7. If necessary, replace damaged wiring
8. Replace the fuel shut-off valve if it is faulty
9. Clear error codes and test drive
