Causes
- Valve wiring short circuit to power
- Damaged or corroded connectors
- Fuel shut-off valve malfunction
- Break in the ground wire of the circuit
- Engine control unit malfunction
- Wiring harness damage
- Moisture getting into electrical connections
How to Fix
- Connect the OBD scanner and read all error codes
- Check engine management system fuses
- Visually inspect the wiring of the fuel shut-off valve
- Measure the voltage at the valve connector with a multimeter
- Check valve control circuit resistance
- Test the fuel shut-off valve on a bench
- Check the quality of contacts in the connectors
- If necessary, replace damaged wiring
- Replace faulty fuel shut-off valve
- Clear error codes and test drive
