Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Illuminates

Causes

• Oxidation or corrosion of sensor connector contacts
• Broken or damaged wiring to the sensor

• Moisture in the sensor connector

How to Fix

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner and read the error codes
2. Check outdoor temperature sensor readings in real time
3. Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion and damage.
4. Clean the connector contacts and treat them with contact spray.
5. Check the integrity of the wiring from the sensor to the control unit
6. Measure the sensor resistance and compare with standard values
7. If necessary, replace the outside air temperature sensor
8. Clear error codes and test drive
9. Recheck for errors after repair
