Symptoms

Causes

How to Fix

  1. Connect a diagnostic scanner and read all error codes
  2. Check the condition of the valve control system fuses and relays
  3. Visually inspect the solenoid wiring and connectors for damage.
  4. Measure the supply voltage at the solenoid connector with the ignition on
  5. Check the solenoid resistance with a multimeter (usually 10-30 ohms)
  6. Clean the connector contacts from oxidation and corrosion
  7. If necessary, replace the faulty solenoid
  8. Check the integrity of the wiring from the ECU to the solenoid
  9. Clear error codes and test drive to check
