Symptoms

  • The engine does not start or is difficult to start
  • Stopping the engine while moving
  • Lack of pressure in the fuel system
  • Check Engine Light Illuminates
  • Dips when pressing the gas pedal

Causes

  • Fuel pump fuse blown
  • Broken wire in the pump wiring harness
  • Failure of the fuel pump relay
  • Complete failure of the fuel pump motor
  • Broken feedback wire to the ECU

How to Fix

  1. Check the fuel pump circuit fuse and replace if necessary.
  2. Check fuel pump relay
  3. Check the presence of supply voltage at the pump connector
  4. Measure fuel pressure
  5. Check the pump wiring harness for a break
  6. If a pump malfunction is confirmed, replace the fuel pump assembly
