- Complete loss of the ability to change the driving mode via switch A
Causes
- Switch A signal wire short to ground
- Loss of switch power (broken reference wire)
- Internal short circuit of switch A to the body
- Severe oxidation of connector contacts with large voltage drop
- Mechanical sticking of the switch (constantly pressed position)
How to Fix
- Read frozen frame codes and data with a diagnostic scanner
- Inspect switch A: there is no mechanical binding, foreign objects under the button
- Check the switch connector for oxidation and contact damage
- Disconnect the switch connector and measure the voltage on the reference wire - it should be about 5V
- If there is a reference voltage: measure the resistance between the signal wire and ground with the switch off - a short will indicate damage to the wiring
- Replace the switch or repair damaged wiring
