Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light Is On
  • Unable to switch driving mode (button does not respond)
  • The system is locked in one mode (usually standard)
  • Warning about malfunction of the mode selection system on the display
  • In some cars - unstable operation of modes (spontaneous switching)

Causes

  • Faulty driving mode select switch A (mechanical or electrical failure)
  • Damage to switch A wiring or connector
  • Oxidation of contacts in the switch connector
  • Malfunction of the driving mode control module
  • Short circuit or open circuit in the switch circuit

How to Fix

  1. Connect the diagnostic scanner, read all codes and frozen frame data
  2. Find switch A of the mode selection system according to the car's electrical diagram
  3. Inspect the switch and its connector: signs of mechanical damage, oxidation, moisture
  4. Check the power and signal wires of the switch with a multimeter
  5. Test the switch for functionality: check the signal change when pressed
  6. Replace the switch if the fault is confirmed; restore wiring if damage is detected
