Symptoms

  • The start-stop system does not work or is deactivated
  • Check Engine Light Is On
  • The start-stop system indicator does not flash when stopping
  • Possible increase in fuel consumption in the urban cycle
  • Warning message on the instrument panel indicating a system malfunction

Causes

  • Broken or damaged wiring in the start-stop switch circuit
  • Signal wire short circuit to ground
  • Oxidation or poor contact in the switch connector
  • Faulty start-stop switch
  • ECU module malfunction (rare)

How to Fix

  1. Connect the diagnostic scanner and read all associated error codes
  2. Check the start-stop switch circuit diagram in the technical documentation
  3. Inspect the wiring from the switch to the computer for breaks, chafing, or damage.
  4. Check the switch connector: clean the contacts from oxidation, make sure there is a reliable connection
  5. Measure the voltage and resistance in the switch circuit with a multimeter
  6. Replace the start-stop switch if it is confirmed to be faulty
