Symptoms

  • The Check Engine light comes on
  • Emergency mode - limiting speed and traction
  • The gas pedal does not respond correctly or does not respond
  • Fixed idle speed regardless of the pedal
  • Cruise control system failure

Causes

  • Internal signal processing error in the ECU
  • ADC fault in APP signal circuit
  • Software failure of the pedal processing algorithm
  • Unstable ECU supply voltage
  • In rare cases, there is a real malfunction of the accelerator pedal sensor

How to Fix

  1. Read error codes - check for APP sensor errors (P2122–P2127)
  2. Check the power and grounding of the accelerator pedal sensor
  3. Measure the voltage of the APP sensor signal at the ECU connector
  4. Check the 5V reference voltage for the sensor
  5. Update the ECU firmware if you have the manufacturer's technical bulletin
  6. If the sensor and wiring are working properly - ECU diagnostics
