Symptoms

  • The Check Engine light comes on
  • Incorrect automatic transmission behavior when accelerating
  • Unstable traction with constant pedal position
  • The traction control system (TCS) activates without reason
  • Emergency mode or reduction in maximum power

Causes

  • Error in the torque calculation algorithm in the ECU firmware
  • Severe engine wear that changed its actual characteristics
  • Incorrect data from several sensors simultaneously
  • Air leaks in the intake tract
  • Internal ECU fault

How to Fix

  1. Check for technical bulletins (TSBs) and ECU firmware updates
  2. Read data from all sensors - MAF, MAP, TPS - evaluate their correctness
  3. Check the intake tract for air leaks
  4. Carry out a compression test to rule out significant engine wear
  5. Update the ECU firmware if there is an official update
  6. If repeated - ECU diagnostics
