Symptoms

• The Check Engine light comes on
• Increased fuel consumption
• Unstable engine operation
• Difficult starting or unstable idle
• Reduced power and throttle response

Causes

• Internal error processing MAF data in the ECU
• Dirty or faulty MAF sensor
• Air leak in the intake tract after the MAF sensor
• MAP sensor malfunction (in systems without MAF or both)
• Clogged air filter affecting flow characteristics

How to Fix

1. Check for additional codes MAF (P0100–P0104) and MAP (P0105–P0109)
2. Clean the MAF sensor with a specialized cleaner
3. Check the air filter and intake tract for leaks and suction
4. Make sure the intake manifold is tight
5. Diagnosis of MAF and MAP signals through a scanner at different speeds
6. If the air system is working properly - ECU diagnostics
