Symptoms

  • The Check Engine light comes on
  • Misfires in bank 1 cylinders
  • Engine vibration
  • Power reduction
  • Rich mixture and increased toxicity

Causes

  • Internal malfunction of bank 1 injector drivers in the ECU
  • Short circuit in bank 1 injector circuits
  • Malfunction of several injectors of bank 1 at the same time
  • Damage to the common power supply wire for bank 1 injectors
  • Unstable power supply to the ECU

How to Fix

  1. Read error codes - check for P0200–P0206 for specific injectors
  2. Check the resistance of bank 1 injectors (normal 12–16 Ohms for MPI)
  3. Check power supply and grounding of bank 1 injectors
  4. Check the wiring of bank 1 injectors for shorts
  5. Diagnostics of bank 1 injectors on a bench
  6. If the injectors are working, diagnostics/replacement of the ECU
