Symptoms

• The Check Engine light comes on

Causes

1. Read odometer data from ECU and dashboard via scanner
2. Compare readings - identify discrepancies
3. Write the correct odometer data to the ECU via a dealer scanner
4. Make sure that the data in all control units matches
5. Keep documentary evidence of correct mileage
