P0659

Actuator Supply Voltage A Circuit High

Severity
🔴 High
Can you drive?
Yes, but get it checked soon
Approx. repair cost
$17–278 (est.)

Symptoms

  • Check Engine light comes on
  • Overheating or premature failure of solenoids
  • Unstable operation of actuators
  • High voltage on-board network
  • Possible charging system codes (P0562, P0563)

Causes

  • Generator voltage too high (faulty voltage regulator)
  • Circuit A power supply short circuit to high voltage source
  • Actuator power relay malfunction (stuck in closed position with incorrect voltage)
  • ECU malfunction
  • Failure in the on-board voltage control system

How to Fix

  1. Check the voltage of the on-board network with a multimeter (normal: 13.5–14.5 V)
  2. Check generator voltage regulator
  3. Check circuit A voltage with engine running
  4. Inspect the wiring for shorts to high voltage sources
  5. Check the actuator power relay
  6. If the generator malfunction is confirmed, replace the regulator or generator
