- Battery overheating
- Incorrect operation of electronic components
Causes
- Short circuit of the sensor signal wire to power supply positive
- Generator voltage regulator malfunction
- Damage to the wiring insulation in the harness
- Lost contact in the connector (accidental contact with positive)
- ECU malfunction
How to Fix
- Measure the actual on-board voltage with a multimeter
- Check the sensor signal wire for a short circuit with the positive wire
- Inspect the generator wiring harness for damaged insulation.
- Check generator voltage regulator
- If a regulator malfunction is confirmed, replace the regulator or generator
