Symptoms

- Unstable or increased voltage of the on-board network
- Battery may drain quickly
- Flickering or unstable lighting
- Charging system warning on instrument panel
Causes
- Open or short circuit in the generator voltage sensor circuit
- Oxidation of generator connectors
- Malfunction of the voltage sensor inside the generator
- Generator voltage regulator malfunction
- ECU malfunction
How to Fix
- Check the voltage of the on-board network with a multimeter (normal: 13.5–14.5 V with the engine running)
- Inspect the wiring and connectors of the generator
- Check the continuity of the voltage sensor circuit according to the diagram
- Check generator voltage regulator
- If necessary, replace the generator or repair it
