Sensor Reference Voltage E Circuit/Open
Severity
🔴 HighCan you drive?
Yes, but get it checked soon
Approx. repair cost
$17–889 (est.)
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light with Multiple Sensor Error Codes
- Unstable engine operation
- Incorrect readings from MAP, TPS or other sensors
- Engine transition to emergency mode
- Deterioration of acceleration dynamics
Causes
- Open circuit 5 V reference wire E
- Short circuit in the reference voltage circuit to ground
- Malfunction of one of the sensors on circuit E, causing an open circuit
- Corrosion of wiring connectors
- Internal ECU fault
How to Fix
- Read all error codes - with P06D2 there are usually additional sensor codes present
- Define a list of sensors connected to the reference voltage circuit E
- Check the 5 V voltage at the sensor connectors with the ignition on
- Disconnect sensors one at a time to detect a short circuit in the circuit
- Check the integrity of the wiring from the ECU to each sensor
- If the wiring is in good condition, diagnose the ECU.
